About
Medical Legal Evaluations
Our medical-legal Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) provide comprehensive, objective assessments of an individual’s physical and/or cognitive functional capacity following injury, illness, or disability. These evaluations are designed to assist the courts in understanding an individual’s residual function in relation to work and daily activities. Throughout the evaluation process performance consistency, reliability, and effort are assessed to ensure the validity of findings.
Medical-legal FCEs are typically booked as 2 Day FCEs, which involves approximately 9 hours of in-clinic assessment. Medical-legal FCEs include a comprehensive report, comprised of a detailed summary report as well as data report outlining results and observations during all tests.

Cost of Future Care Assessment (COFC) – A cost of future care assessment is sometimes requested in combination with a medical-legal FCE, or may be requested as a stand-alone assessment. A COFC analysis provides opinion and associated costing regarding any equipment, services, or rehabilitation that may be recommended to aide in optimizing work and daily function abilities following injury or disability.
