Physical Health

Following an injury or health event, individuals may experience limitations in their ability to perform daily life activities. Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Kinesiologists (Kins) work collaboratively to help individuals regain independence and function. While Kins focus on active rehabilitation, improving foundational strength, mobility, balance, and movement efficiency through targeted exercise, OTs integrate these physical gains directly into functional tasks such as dressing, cooking, and returning to work.
When limitations are long-lasting or become permanent, OTs assist with adapting environments, recommending equipment, and modifying tasks to facilitate participation in daily life. Concurrently, Kins can design long-term, sustainable conditioning programs and ergonomic movement strategies to prevent re-injury and maintain overall physical health.
