Mental Health
Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) and Canadian Certified Counsellors (CCCs) focus deeply on the emotional psychological aspects of healing. Through evidence-based talk therapies, counsellors help you explore thoughts, process emotions, and develop crucial coping strategies. Through trauma-informed care, counsellors can help individuals to process trauma utilizing a framework that prioritizes emotional safety, client control, and establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship.
Occupational therapists (OTs) play a key role in addressing mental health concerns in both children, youth and adults. Rather than just managing symptoms, OTs use functional, activity-based interventions to help you rebuild routines, re-engage in daily activities, return to work or school, and improve your overall quality of life.
Mental health concerns/disorders are best treated by both a counsellor and OT working together in collaboration towards client-centered goals.
